Types of Communication Systems
Many different types of communication systems exist, each using technology differently. Some major systems include:
The following are examples of communication systems:
- Telephone: This device lets people talk over long distances, sending voice signals via wires or wireless networks.
- radio: Radio broadcasts sounds (music, news, stories) over airwaves, received by a radio receiver.
- television (TV): TV displays audio and visual information (programs, movies, news) on a screen.
- Computer: Computers send and receive messages, images, and information via the internet (emails, instant messaging, video calls).
- Mobile Phones: these portable devices allow calls, text messages, and wireless internet access, widely used for communication.
- Satellite communication: Satellites in space relay signals for television, telephone, and internet, enabling global communication.
- Fiber Optics: These thin strands of glass transmit data as light, enabling high-speed internet and clear phone calls.
