Differentiation

Pupils who learn fast will provide more word examples containing each vowel group and write a longer folktale with clear lesson. Pupils who need support will use the vowel chart and a guided template to classify vowels and tell a very short story in simple sentences.

Note for teachers using this lesson plan

Ensure pupils pronounce dotted vowels correctly and keep the classification points clear on the board. During storytelling, insist on stating the type of story and the lesson learnt to support evaluation questions.
