Differentiation

Pupils who need support will use a prepared vowel chart and a short word list for classification, while advanced pupils will create their own word lists for ihu and azụ groups, read two years fully in Igbo, and answer deeper drama comprehension questions based on character and setting.

Note for teachers using this lesson plan

Ensure the vowel chart is clear and pupils can distinguish dotted vowels from undotted ones. Use simple, familiar words for harmony practice and correct pupils’ pronunciation gently. For months and years, insist on correct order and clear reading. During drama reading, assign roles to encourage participation and use short comprehension questions that focus on setting, characters, and events.
