The functions of the executive arm include:

  2. Policy Implementation: Making sure government policies are carried out effectively.
  3. Defense of the Nation: protecting the country from external threats.
  4. Maintaining Order: Keeping peace and security within the country.
  5. Representation: Representing the country in international affairs.


Functions of the Executive

The executive implements laws, prepares policy and budget proposals, manages public services, maintains lawful administration and represents the country or state in official matters. It also appoints officials where the constitution or law permits.

The executive cannot lawfully ignore the legislature or courts. Public money must be spent through approved processes, and executive action can be reviewed under the law.
