Personal hygiene means keeping your body clean to stay healthy and strong. One very important part of personal hygiene is knowing how to use the toilet properly and keeping clean afterwards.

Steps for Proper Toilet Use:

1. Go to the toilet: When you feel like you need to pee or poop, go to the toilet quickly.
2. Pull down clothes: Pull down your trousers or skirt and underwear.
3. Sit properly: Sit carefully on the toilet seat.
4. Pee or poop: Do your business.
5. Wipe properly:
   • Take enough toilet paper.
   • For pooping, wipe from front to back until it’s clean.
   • For peeing, wipe gently from front to back.
   • Put the used toilet paper inside the toilet bowl.
6. Flush the toilet: Press the flush button or pull the flush handle. Watch the water take everything away.
7. Pull up clothes: Pull up your underwear and clothes.
8. Wash your hands: Go to the tap and wash your hands with soap and water very well.
9. Dry your hands: Dry your hands with a clean towel or air dryer.

Washing your hands after using the toilet is the most important step to remove germs and stay healthy!
