Lesson Content/Board Summary

The Occurrences of the Day of Qiyama

QIYAMA

Qiyama, also known as the Day of Judgment, is a fundamental belief in Islam. It is the day when all creation will be brought back to life by Allah and judged according to their deeds in this world. It is a day of accountability and justice.

Memory Verse

Surah Az-Zalzalah (99:7-8):
“So whoever does an atom’s weight of good will see it,
And whoever does an atom’s weight of evil will see it.”

Quran Reading
  • Surah Al-Qariah (101:1-11)
  • Surah Az-Zalzalah (99:1-8)
Major Occurrences of the Day of Qiyama

The Day of Qiyama will involve several significant events:

  • The First Blowing of the Trumpet: Angel Israfil will blow the trumpet, causing all living beings to die and the universe to be destroyed.
  • The Second Blowing of the Trumpet: After a period, Angel Israfil will blow the trumpet again, and all humans, from Adam until the last person, will be resurrected and brought back to life.
  • The Gathering: All resurrected humans will be gathered in a vast plain, waiting for Allah’s judgment.
  • The Reckoning (Hisab): Each person will stand before Allah and be questioned about their life, deeds, wealth, and knowledge.
  • The Weighing of Deeds (Mizan): The good and bad deeds of each individual will be weighed on a divine scale. Good deeds will be heavy, and bad deeds will be light.
  • Crossing the Sirat: A bridge thinner than a hair and sharper than a sword will be stretched over Hellfire. People will cross it according to their deeds. Some will cross quickly, others slowly, and some will fall into Hell.
  • Entry into Jannah or Jahannam: Based on their judgment and the weighing of their deeds, people will enter either Jannah (Paradise) for eternal reward or Jahannam (Hellfire) for eternal punishment.
