During the British colonial period in nigeria, two critically critically important administrative centers were Calabar and Lokoja.
What is a Colonial Administrative Headquarters?
A colonial administrative headquarters was the central location where the colonial government set up its offices, courts, and other important parts of its administration. Thes places were carefully chosen because of how easy they were to get to, the resources available, and their strategic importance.
Calabar
Calabar, in southeastern Nigeria, was a very important colonial administrative headquarters. it was a major center for trade and commerce, and the British used it to control the area. They built offices, trade routes, and other infrastructure there.
Lokoja
Lokoja, in central Nigeria, was another crucial colonial administrative headquarters. Its location at the meeting point of the Niger and Benue rivers made it important for trade and transportation, making it a key administrative center.
