The Parents-Teachers Association (PTA) of Community and Primary Schools in Amakohia, located in Ikeduru Local Government Area, has called on government bodies and non-governmental organisations to strengthen efforts toward promoting moral upbringing and civic responsibility among pupils, especially at the primary school level.

The appeal was made during a prize-giving ceremony held for outstanding pupils of Amakohia Community School and Amakohia Primary School. The pupils were recognised for their excellent performance in the Moral and Civic Knowledge Project, an initiative organised by Path to Follow: Moral and Civic Knowledge Project in collaboration with the schools.

Speaking at the event, the PTA representative of Community School Amakohia, Steven Okwujiako Okosisi, praised the organisers for introducing a programme aimed at shaping children into responsible and morally upright individuals. He also offered prayers for the continued success of the initiative.

Similarly, the PTA representative of Amakohia Primary School, Pascal Eze, expressed satisfaction with the positive impact of the project on the pupils’ development and behaviour.

The pupils who benefited from the programme expressed appreciation to the organisers, describing the initiative as both enlightening and impactful. They also appealed for its continuation so more children can benefit from similar opportunities.

In their remarks, the headmistresses of both schools commended the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Morals Path to Follow Foundation, Collins RU Ihekire, for supporting the implementation of the project.

The Headmistress of Community School Amakohia, Regina Ofoegbu, alongside her counterpart at Amakohia Primary School, Jane Ngozi Okoro, also applauded the organisers and the project coordinator, Chikezie Allwell Chinkata, for their commitment to instilling strong moral values in children within the community.

Teachers and school management teams further offered prayers for everyone who contributed to the success of the programme and encouraged the organisers to sustain the initiative in order to ensure long-term positive impact on pupils.

The event highlights the growing importance of moral and civic education in shaping responsible citizens and strengthening community values from an early age.
