NABTEB Extends 2026 Common Entrance Registration, Reschedules Exam Date
The National Business and Technical Examinations Board has announced an extension of the registration deadline for the 2026 National Common Entrance Examination into technical colleges across Nigeria.
The examination body stated that candidates now have until May 31, 2026, to complete their registration, while the examination date has been shifted from June 6 to June 13, 2026.
The announcement was made in a statement issued in Benin City by the Assistant Director of Media and Protocol, Mr. Uchechukwu Olisah. According to the statement, the approval for the extension was granted by the Registrar and Chief Executive Officer of NABTEB, Dr Aminu Mohammed.
Olisah explained that the decision was officially communicated through an internal memorandum signed by the Director of Examinations Administration, Ms. Chigoziem Metu.
He noted that the extension became necessary following appeals from prospective candidates who requested additional time to complete their registration process.
“With this extension, registration for the National Common Entrance Examination will now close on Sunday, May 31, while the examination earlier scheduled for Saturday, June 6, will now hold on Saturday, June 13,” the statement said.
The board encouraged students interested in technical and entrepreneurial education to take advantage of the extension period and complete their registration before the new deadline.
NABTEB also urged candidates seeking admission into technical colleges nationwide to participate actively in its examinations, emphasizing the importance of technical education in developing practical and employable skills among Nigerian youths.
The National Common Entrance Examination is conducted annually for admission into technical colleges across the country and serves as a pathway for students interested in vocational and technical education.
