Lesson Content
Creating New Document
Creating a new document is easy! Here’s how:
- Open MS Word: Find the MS Word icon and click it.
- click the “File” tab: It’s at the top left.
- Select “New”: Choose a blank document or a template.
- Start with a blank document: This lets you create from scratch.
- Name and save: Give your document a clear name and save it in a place you’ll remember.
Creating and Naming a New Document
Choose New or Blank Document, enter the required text and save early. A useful filename describes the work, class or date without forbidden characters, for example P6_Farm_Record_Assignment.
Select the correct folder and file type, then check that the saved name appears. A new blank document has no reliable storage location until it is saved.
Creating and Saving a New Document
- Open the word-processing application.
- Select New and choose a blank document or approved template.
- Enter and format the required text.
- Use Save As the first time, choose the correct folder and enter a meaningful filename.
- Save regularly and close the document only after confirming the latest changes.
A filename should describe the work without revealing unnecessary personal information.
