TGNL Donates Modern Educational Facilities to Ogun Primary School

A private company, Transit Gas Nigeria Limited (TGNL), has strengthened basic education infrastructure in Ogun State by donating modern learning facilities to St. John Anglican Primary School, Ilado, in Odogbolu Local Government Area.

The intervention was carried out as part of the company’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative aimed at improving learning conditions in public schools and supporting educational development at the grassroots level.

Improved Learning Infrastructure for Pupils

The facilities provided by TGNL include a block of six classrooms with offices and a storage room, toilet facilities, tables and benches, boreholes, and generating sets. These additions are expected to significantly improve both teaching and learning experiences within the school environment.

Government Commends Private Sector Support

The Chairman of the Ogun State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), Evangelist Olalekan Ifede, who spoke during the commissioning ceremony, noted that government alone cannot fully meet the rising demand for quality education infrastructure across the state.

He praised TGNL for the donation, describing it as a meaningful contribution to improving educational standards. He also urged the school management and the School-Based Management Committee to ensure proper maintenance of the new facilities so they can serve future generations.

Call for More Private Sector Involvement

Ifede further encouraged other corporate organisations, philanthropists, and individuals to support public primary schools across Ogun State through similar interventions.

In his remarks, the Gbegande of Ososa, Adetoye Alatise, commended TGNL for its commitment to community development and responsible corporate social investment.

The Chairman of the School-Based Management Committee, Ganiyu Dada, described the project as transformative, noting that it has placed the school among the better-equipped institutions in the area.

Company’s Commitment to Education

Speaking on behalf of the company, the Managing Director of TGNL, Eromosele Agboighale, explained that the project reflects the company’s belief that education is a key foundation for sustainable development.

The Headteacher of the school, Mrs. Adesola Badmus, alongside pupils Sunday Paul and Abigail Jonah, expressed appreciation for the donation and pledged to ensure proper use and maintenance of the facilities to improve academic performance.
