Pupils have been introduced to the meaning of groups and have basic knowledge of social groups and their roles.

Importance of Pressure Groups
Pressure groups help to protect the rights of people in the society. They speak for the needs of different groups and help make good laws.
Promote Good Governance: Pressure groups help leaders to do the right things. The following are ways they promote good governance:
- They check the activities of government
- They speak against bad policies
- They demand justice for people
- They help government know people’s needs
- They make leaders obey laws
- They advocate for openness in government spending
- They ensure that government projects are beneficial to the community
Protect Citizens’ Rights: Pressure groups help to protect people from being treated badly. These include:
- Fighting for workers’ rights
- Helping poor people get justice
- Preventing abuse of power
- Supporting children’s and women’s rights
- Reporting bad actions by leaders
- Advocating for fair treatment in the workplace
- Ensuring access to education and healthcare for all citizens
Create Public awareness: They educate people on important social issues by doing the following:
- Organizing public rallies
