Criminal behaviour means doing things that are against the law or harmful to others in society.
Ways to Control and Prevent Criminal Behaviours
We can stop crimes by doing the right things and obeying the law. The following are ways to prevent criminal behaviours:
- Obeying rules and laws
- Reporting suspicious activities
- Avoiding bad friends and gangs
- Educating people on the dangers of crime
- Using security agencies to maintain order
- Promoting good values and morals in society
- Providing opportunities for education and employment
Agencies That Help Prevent Crimes in Nigeria
These are special groups that help to stop and control crimes in Nigeria. They are:
- Nigeria Police Force
- Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps
- Federal Road safety corps
- National Drug Law Enforcement Agency
- Economic and Financial Crimes Commission
- The Nigerian Army
- State Security Service (SSS)
Duties of Security Agencies
Security agencies work to keep the country safe.The following are duties of security agencies:
- Arresting and punishing criminals
- Protecting people and properties
- Monitoring for drug and financial crimes
- Controlling traffic and preventing road crimes
- Educating the public on safety
- maintaining law and order in society
- Responding to emergencies and disasters
