  6. Warehousing

Transport

Transport is the movement of people and goods from one place to another. It removes the barrier of distance in trade and makes goods available where they are needed.

The following are means of transportation:

  1. Road transport
  2. Rail transport
  3. Air transport
  4. Water transport
  5. Pipeline transport

The following are importance of transportation to commerce:

  1. It enables the movement of goods from producers to consumers.
  2. It encourages large-scale production.
  3. It creates employment opportunities.
  4. It links markets and promotes trade within and outside the country.
  5. It helps to stabilize prices by making goods available in different locations.

Advertisement

Advertisement is the process of creating awareness about goods and services to influence people to buy them. It removes the barrier of lack of information in trade.

The following are types of advertisement:

  1. Informative advertisement
  2. Persuasive advertisement
  3. Competitive advertisement
  4. Reminder advertisement

The following are means of advertisement:

  1. Newspapers and magazines
  2. Radio
  3. Television
  4. Billboards and posters
  5. Internet and social media

Communication

Communication is the process of exchanging information between people and businesses. It makes trade easier by providing correct and timely information.

The following are importance of communication:

  1. It helps businessmen to exchange ideas and negotiate.
  2. It enables quick decision-making in business.
  3. It helps customers to know about new products and services.
  4. It connects buyers and sellers in different locations.
