The Zamfara State Government has commenced the distribution of its newly approved education curricula to selected schools across three local government areas as part of efforts to improve the quality of teaching and learning in the state.

The presentation was carried out by the Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Abdulmalik Abubakar Gajam, during an official inspection tour of Shinkafi, Moriki and Zurmi Local Government Areas.

According to the commissioner, the initiative is part of the Ministry of Education’s ongoing education reform programme aimed at strengthening curriculum delivery, enhancing teaching standards and improving learning outcomes in public schools across the state.

The newly approved curricula place significant emphasis on Science, Technical Education, Innovation and Emerging Technology. These subject areas are expected to equip students with practical knowledge, digital skills and the competencies needed to succeed in today’s technology-driven world.

During the inspection visit, the commissioner also met with school administrators and education stakeholders to discuss effective implementation of the new curriculum. He stressed the need for schools to comply with approved educational standards while strengthening school-based management systems to support quality education.

The Zamfara State Government believes that the curriculum reform will help prepare learners for future academic and career opportunities while supporting broader efforts to modernize the state’s education sector.

The initiative follows other recent education reforms introduced by the state government, including plans to recruit thousands of qualified teachers to improve classroom instruction and expand access to quality education.
