By the end of the lesson, pupils should be able to:

  • Affective Domain: Show thankfulness for peaceful values in school and at home.
  • Psychomotor Domain: Demonstrate examples of self-control and humility in role play.
  • Social Domain: Work cooperatively in group activities to promote peaceful behavior.

Understanding peaceful values like humility and self-control helps pupils avoid fights and respect others in school,home,and community.


Prerequisite/Previous Knowledge

Pupils already know basic rules of good behavior and have discussed types of values in previous lessons.


Lesson Content

Values That Promote Peace: Humility

humility means being humble and not proud. A humble person does not brag or look down on others.Peaceful values like humility, moderation, humanness, and self-control help us avoid trouble and live happily with others.

Meaning of Moderation

Moderation means not doing things too much or too little. It helps us stay balanced. The following are examples of moderation:

  1. Eating just enough food
  2. Watching TV for a short time
  3. Playing without forgetting homework
  4. Sleeping early and waking up early
  5. Not shouting or talking too much
  6. Using social media responsibly
  7. Spending money wisely

Meaning of Humanness

Humanness means being kind and caring to others. It shows that we love and respect people. These include:

  1. Helping someone in need
  2. Visiting a sick friend
  3. Giving to the poor
  4. Sharing food or toys
  5. Saying kind words
  6. Comforting someone who is sad
  7. Standing up for someone being bullied

Meaning of Self-Control

Self-control means staying calm and not doing things in anger or excitement. Below are some examples of self-control:

  1. Not fighting back when angry
  2. Waiting for yoru turn
  3. Not stealing even when no one is watching
  4. Speaking politely
  5. Not interrupting when others talk
  6. Resisting the urge to cheat on a test
  7. Controlling your temper when frustrated

Pupils’ Activity: Pupils listen,ask questions,and share examples.

Step 3: Meaning of Moderation

Teacher’s Activity: Explains moderation using a story and shows chart with pictures.
Pupils’ Activity: Pupils identify acts of moderation in the pictures.

Step 4: meaning of Humanness

Teacher’s Activity: Tells a story of a kind person who helps a friend and discusses key points.
Pupils’ Activity: pupils listen and answer questions.

Step 5: Meaning of Self-Control

Time: 5 mins
