What are the Skills in Long Jump?
Long jump is a field event where athletes combine speed, strength, and agility to jump as far as possible. It requires skill and practice.
Run-up:
The approach run where the athlete builds speed, maintaining a consistent stride for a powerful take-off.
take-off:
the jump from one foot, pushing off the take-off board using leg muscles to generate power and lift the body.
Flight:
The athlete uses techniques like the hang, sail, or hitch-kick to maximize distance in the air, controlling body position to stay airborne.
Landing:
Landing feet first in the sandpit, extending legs forward and using arms for balance, aiming for a soft and safe landing.
