    What is High Jump?

    High jump is a track and field event where athletes try to jump over a horizontal bar. The goal is to clear the bar without knocking it down. It’s a challenging event that needs strength, speed, and good technique.

    Skills in High Jump

    High jump involves several key skills that athletes must master to perform effectively. These include:

    1. Approach: This is the run-up to the bar, building speed and momentum. Athletes run straight and keep a steady pace.
    2. Take-off: This is pushing off the ground with one foot to jump. Leg muscles are used to generate power and lift the body.
    3. Flight: This is the body’s movement in the air, clearing the bar. arms and legs help control the body for a graceful movement.
    4. landing: This is safely landing on the mat after clearing the bar. Athletes land on their feet to absorb the impact.

    Teacher’s Activity: explain the meaning of high jump and its importance in physical fitness.
