    Parts of a Computer – The Keyboard

    A keyboard is an input device used to type letters,numbers,and symbols into a computer. It acts as a bridge between your thoughts and the computer screen.

    Key Parts of a Keyboard

    Keyboards are made up of different parts that serve specific functions. These include:

    1. Letters: Keys for typing alphabet letters.
    2. Numbers: keys for typing numbers 0-9.
    3. Function Keys: Keys with special functions (e.g., screen brightness control).
    4. Spacebar: Large key for creating spaces between words.

    6. Enter/Return Key: Key to move to the next line or start a new paragraph.

    9. Caps Lock Key: Key used to type all letters in capital form.

    1. Typing Letters: Allows typing letters for writing.
    2. Typing Numbers: Allows typing numbers for math or dates.
    3. Special Symbols: Allows typing symbols like !, ?,., etc.
    4. Spacebar Function: Creates spaces between words for readability.
    5. Enter/Return key Function: Moves to the next line or starts a new paragraph.
    6. Backspace/Delete Key function: Erases mistakes for corrections.
    7. Arrow Keys Function: Navigates through documents and web pages.
    8. Function Keys Function: Performs specific tasks like adjusting volume or brightness.
    9. Caps Lock Function: Types all letters in uppercase.
