The Delta State Ministry of Secondary Education has directed all teaching and non-teaching staff in public secondary schools across the state to submit essential personal and professional records within 48 hours.
The directive was issued through an official circular dated March 24, 2026, and communicated to schools via Chief Inspectors of Education (CIEs) in various field offices. The move is part of a broader effort to improve data management within the state’s education system.
According to the Commissioner for Secondary Education, Kingsley Ashibogwu, the exercise is aimed at digitalising staff records and enhancing administrative efficiency in public post-primary institutions.
As outlined in the circular, all staff members are required to submit copies of their letter of first appointment. This is to enable proper verification of employment status and ensure that official records are accurate and up to date.
In addition, employees must provide their last three promotion letters as well as their last three posting letters. These documents will help the ministry track career progression and maintain a reliable database of personnel across the state.
The ministry emphasized that the exercise is a key step toward strengthening personnel administration, improving transparency, and ensuring effective record-keeping in Delta State’s secondary school system. School authorities have been urged to comply promptly within the stipulated timeframe.
