What are Raw Materials?

Raw materials are natural substances or primary products used to make goods. They are the basic building blocks for many products. In agriculture, thes materials come directly from plants, animals, or the earth.

Sources of Agricultural Raw Materials:

Many things come from agriculture that are used to make other things.Here are some examples:

Cotton
  • Used to make fabrics and clothing.
Timber
  • Used in construction, furniture, and paper.
Sugarcane
  • Used to make sugar, molasses, and ethanol.
Maize (Corn)
  • Used in many foods like cornmeal, corn syrup, and cornstarch.
Rubber
  • From rubber trees, used for tires, shoes, and other rubber products.
Wool
  • From sheep, used for warm clothing.
Leather
  • From animal hides, used for shoes, bags, and jackets.
Jute
  • A natural fiber used for ropes and sacks.
Hemp
  • A natural fiber used for clothing, rope, and paper.
Soybeans
  • Used to make soy oil, soy milk, and tofu.
Coffee
  • Coffee beans are used to make coffee.
Tea
  • Tea leaves are used to make tea.
