Maintenance And care Of Farm Tools: Storage

Farm tools need to be kept well after use. Proper storage helps them last longer and remain useful.

The following are reasons for storing farm tools:

  1. To keep them from rusting
  2. To make them last longer
  3. To avoid accidents
  4. To keep the tools clean
  5. To protect tools from thieves

Places to Store Tools

Tools should be kept in good places where they will not be damaged. These include:

  1. farm shed
  2. Store room
  3. Wooden racks
  4. Hanging on nails
  5. Inside boxes or cabinets
  6. Tool cabinets
  7. Under a Shade

Conditions for Storing Tools

When storing tools, we must keep the place good and safe for them. They are:

  1. Store tools in a cool dry place
  2. Make sure the place is clean
  3. Keep tools off the ground
  4. Arrange tools properly
  5. Lock the storage place after use
  6. Ensure adequate ventilation
  7. Protect from pests and rodents
