Farm tools need to be kept well after use. Proper storage helps them last longer and remain useful.
The following are reasons for storing farm tools:
- To keep them from rusting
- To make them last longer
- To avoid accidents
- To keep the tools clean
- To protect tools from thieves
Places to Store Tools
Tools should be kept in good places where they will not be damaged. These include:
- farm shed
- Store room
- Wooden racks
- Hanging on nails
- Inside boxes or cabinets
- Tool cabinets
- Under a Shade
Conditions for Storing Tools
When storing tools, we must keep the place good and safe for them. They are:
- Store tools in a cool dry place
- Make sure the place is clean
- Keep tools off the ground
- Arrange tools properly
- Lock the storage place after use
- Ensure adequate ventilation
- Protect from pests and rodents
