Definition of Networking

Network Topology

Network topology refers to the physical or logical arrangement of connected devices in a network. Key topologies include:

  1. Bus Topology: All devices are connected to a single central cable (backbone). Data travels from one end of the cable to the other.

    Drawing: A straight line representing the backbone with devices connected at various points along it.

  2. Star Topology: All devices are connected to a central hub or switch. Data passes through the central device before reaching its destination.

  3. Ring Topology: Devices are connected in a circular fashion, forming a continuous loop. Data travels in one direction around the ring.
