Brief History of the World Wide Web
The World Wide Web was invented by **Sir Tim Berners-Lee** in **1989** while he was working at CERN (European Organization for Nuclear Research) in Switzerland. His original purpose was to create a system for scientists to easily share information and research documents across different computer systems. He developed the first web browser and web server in 1990, and the Web was made publicly available in 1991.
