- Good dimensional stability (resists warping and shrinking).
- Available in various thicknesses and grades.
- Can be water-resistant (marine plywood).
- MDF:
- Smooth surface, excellent for painting and veneering.
- Uniform density and structure.
- Easy to machine and cut without splintering.
- Less stable in humid environments unless treated.
- Particle Board:
- Economical and lightweight.

- Less strong and durable than plywood or MDF.
- Susceptible to moisture damage and swelling.
- Hardboard:
