As Lagos State primary and secondary schools prepare to resume on Monday, September 9, 2024, for the new academic session, the Commissioner for Basic and Secondary Education, Mr. Jamiu Alli-Balogun, has urged students to steer clear of vices such as bullying, gangsterism, and drug abuse.

In a statement issued on Sunday, Alli-Balogun encouraged students to approach the 2024/2025 academic session with enthusiasm, curiosity, and dedication. He stressed the importance of maintaining a safe and conducive learning environment for all students.

“Dear pupils and students, I encourage you to approach this year with enthusiasm, curiosity, and dedication. Stay away from vices like bullying, gangsterism, and drug abuse,” the commissioner stated.

Alli-Balogun also highlighted the critical role of teachers and parents in shaping the academic success and well-being of students. He called on parents to support their children’s educational journey by fostering curiosity and a love for learning.
