    Prerequisite/Previous Knowledge

    The teacher will start by asking pupils if they have ever used a smartphone. The teacher will then show a picture of a smartphone and ask pupils to name some of the things they can do with it. This will create excitement and curiosity about the lesson.

    What is a Smartphone?

    A smartphone is a small,portable computer that also makes phone calls. It lets us do many things like talk to people,take pictures,play games,and look up data on the internet.

    Parts of a Smartphone

    A smartphone consists of several key components that enable its functionality. These include:

    The following are parts of a smartphone:

    1. screen: The screen shows us what’s happening on the phone. We touch the screen to use the phone.
    2. Battery: The battery gives the phone power.Without a battery,the phone won’t work.
    3. Camera: The camera takes pictures and videos.
    4. Speakers: The speakers make sounds, like music or voices.
    5. microphone: the microphone lets the phone hear us when we talk.
    6. charging Port: We plug the charger into this port to give the battery power.
    7. Headphone Jack: We plug headphones into this port to listen to music privately.
    8. SIM Card Slot: this is where the SIM card is placed, connecting the phone to a mobile network.
    9. Volume Buttons: these buttons control the loudness of the sound from the speakers or headphones.
    10. Power Button: This button is used to turn the phone on or off, and sometimes to lock or unlock the screen.
