Meaning, Types and Causes Of Drug Abuse
Drug abuse means using drugs the wrong way. It also means taking drugs without a doctor’s instruction. It is harmful to the body and mind.
Types of Drugs People Abuse
Some drugs are used wrongly by people and can harm the body. The following are examples of drugs that people abuse:
- Tramadol
- Cocaine
- Marijuana
- Codeine
- Tobacco
- Alcohol
- Cigarettes
- Heroin
- Amphetamines
Causes of Drug Abuse
People abuse drugs for different reasons. These causes can be personal or from others around them. The following are causes of drug abuse:
- Bad friends
- Curiosity
- Peer pressure
- Family problems
- Lack of knowledge
- Poverty
- depression
- Easy access to drugs
- Stress
- Emotional trauma
