    Rationale for the Lesson

    Understanding community roles fosters a sense of belonging and obligation. It helps children appreciate the contributions of others and understand their own potential roles in society.

    Prerequisite/Previous Knowledge

    The teacher will begin by asking pupils to share examples of people they see in their community. This will lead into a discussion about the different roles these people play.

    What is a Community?

    A community is a group of people living in the same place and sharing similar interests, values, and goals. it could be a small village, a large city, or even a school. Every person in a community plays a part in making it a better place.

    Roles of Community Members

    These include:

    1. Teacher:

  1. Educates and guides students.
  2. Creates a safe learning habitat.

    1. police Officer:

  1. Keeps the community safe by enforcing laws.
  2. Responds to emergencies and maintains order.

    1. Parent:

  1. Provides love, care, and support to children.
  2. Helps children learn and grow, participating in school and community activities.

    1. Doctor:

  1. Provides medical care and advice.
  2. Diagnoses and treats illnesses and injuries.

    1. Shopkeeper:

  1. Provides goods and services.
  2. Contributes to the local economy.

    1. Farmer:

  1. Grows food for the community.
  2. Cares for the land.

    1. Community Cleaner:

  1. Keeps public spaces clean and tidy.
