- Analogue Cameras (Film Cameras): These cameras use photographic film to capture images. The film is chemically processed to reveal the image.
- Digital Cameras: These cameras use an electronic image sensor to record images as digital data. The images are stored on memory cards and can be viewed instantly.
- Video Cameras: Designed to record moving images (video) and sound.
- Camera Phones: Integrated cameras found in mobile phones, offering convenience for everyday photography and video recording.
Classification of Cameras by Lenses
