- Utility Software: Helps to maintain and protect the computer system. Examples: antivirus software, disk defragmenter, file compression tools.
- Application Software: Performs specific tasks for the user.
- Word Processors: For creating and editing text documents. Example: Microsoft Word.
- Spreadsheet Software: For organizing, analyzing, and storing data in tabular form. Example: Microsoft Excel.

Data and Information

Computer Networks

- Wide Area Network (WAN): Connects computers over a large geographical area, often spanning cities, countries, or continents. The Internet is the largest WAN.

The Internet and World Wide Web
Internet: A global system of interconnected computer networks that uses the standard Internet Protocol Suite (TCP/IP) to serve billions of users worldwide.
