Lesson Content
Jesus Gave His Life for us on the Cross
Jesus Christ, the Son of God, willingly sacrificed His life on the cross to save humanity from sin. This act demonstrated God’s profound love and fulfilled His promise to save the world.
The Arrest of Jesus
Jesus was arrested in the Garden of Gethsemane after being betrayed by judas Iscariot. Despite having the power to resist, Jesus submitted to arrest to fulfill God’s plan, as detailed in Matthew 26:47–54.
The trials and Suffering of jesus
Following His arrest, Jesus faced trials before leaders such as Herod and Pilate, where He was falsely accused, mocked, and subjected to physical abuse, including being crowned with thorns. Despite His innocence,He endured this suffering to save others,as recorded in Luke 23:1–13.
The Death of Jesus on the Cross
Jesus was crucified at golgotha, where He forgave those who harmed Him before giving up His spirit. The sky darkened, and the temple curtain tore, symbolizing renewed access to God, as described in Luke 23:44–49.
New Life Through Jesus’ Resurrection
Jesus resurrected on the third day, offering believers a new life filled with hope, faith, love, and joy. This new life involves living according to God’s will and abandoning sinful behaviors.
Evidence of New Life in Christ
New life in Christ is demonstrated through transformed behaviors and attitudes. The following are:
- Love for others: Showing compassion and kindness to everyone.
- Forgiveness: Releasing anger and resentment towards those who offend.
- Faith in God: Trusting in God’s promises and guidance.
- Joy and peace: Experiencing inner contentment through righteous living.
- Obedience to God’s word: Following the teachings and commandments of the Bible.
- Service to others: Helping and supporting those in need.
- Humility: Recognizing one’s dependence on God and treating others with respect.
- Integrity: Living honestly and truthfully in all aspects of life.
